THE SARDINIAN KNIFE. AN AINCIENT TRADITION.

Cutlery in Sardinia is one of the most important activities related to the true tradition, that is still deeply present in the island.
TYPES OF SARDINIAN KNIVES
The tradition of this knife was born in Pattada, a town in the area of Sardinia called Logudoro, where two skilled blacksmiths, the Bellu’s brothers, Giovanni and Giuseppe, gave birth to the tradition of this knife manufacturing. Between the 1800 and 1900 was born “sa resolza, the typical knife from Pattada.
“PATTADESE”

“ARBURESE”
The “arburese” is a knife with a bellied blade, is typically used by hunters, to skinning the prey.
“LAMETTA TEMPIESE”
The “lametta tempiese” or “mozzetta tempiese” is a typical knife of Sassari’s area, created after the establishment of a law which banned the use of sharp knives in the mines.
